Top Heater for the BP555S, BP555L, BP556, and BP554:
The top heater changed over the 40 years the tape machines were produced. On the early machines the heater plug consisted of two "half moon" plugs going into a twist socket. The part number for the original heater was a FF55XXX. The heater socket was a part number TO174. During the later sixties and early seventies the heater was wired directly into the machine without a socket. The replacement part number is the FF55XXX less the plug. From about 1976 on, the new style heater was part number TH55PXXX that included a standard three prong electric plug. The heater socket was square with a part number 600-130-0. |
